Lisandro Martinez: Manchester United Impact & Carrick’s Role

by Archynetys Sports Desk

After the Manchester Derby win, Martinez praised Carrick for encouraging the players to “use people’s energy” to beat City. And in an interview with Stansport Last week, he gave a statement about his relationship with the coach.

“I was very impressed with him, his body language, his energy, his communication. He was very close to the players, the way he trusted the players, the way he spoke, the way he connected with everyone,” Martinez said. “If you play for Manchester United, it’s because you have something. You need people who understand your qualities, you need people who take the best out of you and I think [Carrick] do that. He gets the best out of everyone, not just the players, but the staff as well.”

“And for me, when you touch my heart, I will give everything for you, and he has touched it and you can see it on the pitch we give everything.”

For Carrick, the Argentinian embodies exactly what he is trying to build: “You have to play with feeling. You have to play with emotion, you have to play with passion. And Licha has embodied that in terms of how he goes about his days, and of course in his matches.”

There was certainly excitement about United once again, perhaps a bit of the ‘miracle’ that Carrick referred to in his first press conference. And Martinez’s blend of fierce competitive spirit and incredible technical ability is the main reason why that is the case.
