FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine (WABI) – A Limestone woman has been indicted by an Aroostook County grand jury in connection with a crash in Fort Fairfield that left two people dead.

24-year-old Amber Turcotte is facing numerous charges including manslaughter, operating under the influence of drugs resulting in death, and driving to endanger.

Police say last August, Turcotte drove into the shoulder and overcorrected.

Officials say she then went into the other lane and crashed into another vehicle.

Turcotte and a passenger were thrown from the vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say the driver of the other vehicle, 60-year-old Carrie Smith-Gagne died in the crash.

Their passenger, 72-year-old Pierre Gagne, was taken to a hospital where they later died.

Turcotte was arrested Monday and taken to the Aroostook County Jail where her bail was set at $15,000.
