Lil Jon Turns Down The Noise, Turns Up Wellness
From electrifying the Democratic National Convention to dropping a new album centered around meditation, Lil Jon is proving that self-care is the ultimate hip-hop anthem.
The rapper, known for his high-energy party anthems, surprised audiences with his soulful "Total Meditation" album, a project he says was initially met with skepticism. "Some people were like, ‘What is this gonna sound like? Is he gonna be yelling?’” Lil Jon shared, laughing. “Once it came out and people heard it they were like, ‘Okay, this is actually pretty good.’ And I got so many messages of people telling me how they never meditated and how I helped them to meditate."
Lil Jon continues to push boundaries, merging his musical talents with activism. His latest endeavor is a remix of his hit song "Get Low," partnered with Cologuard, to promote awareness about colon cancer screenings.
“If Lil Jon, the guy known for partying is talking about this it might cause people to say let me check this out,” Lil Jon explained. “To help bring awareness and push people that probably might not have checked out the Cologuard test before to check it out, I think is paramount. You gotta get low to take a number two to screen for colon cancer."
Beyond music and activism, Lil Jon has carved a unique space as one of the first hip-hop producers to perform residencies in Las Vegas.
His overarching message? Fun. “When it comes to any of his work, [Lil Jon] wants it to be fun. "That’s what he brought to the music video for “Get Low #2,”
Whether it’s spreading health awareness, dropping new albums, or rocking Vegas, Lil Jon remains a hip-hop icon who prioritizes joy and well-being.
