The Spanish footballer Adama Traoré, former FC Barcelona player, has always attracted attention on the pitch and off it for his impressive muscles. However, his corpulent physique has led West Ham United, his current team, to make an important decision about his preparation.
The English club has prohibited the 30-year-old footballer from going to the gym to lift weights. Nuno Espírito Santo, Hammers coach, confirmed it at a press conference.
The Portuguese coach spoke about the Spanish footballer, signed last winter from Fulham, and praised his geneticsat the same time he confirmed that he is prohibited from doing weight lifting exercises.
“His physique and genetics are incredible, but he should avoid the gym. I’ve already told him he can’t go. It’s something you have to realize, that you already lift too many weights. “He’s going to do prevention work in the gym, but he’s not going to lift weight,” Espirito Santo said.
“For example, we have the opposite case, with Airidas Golambeckisan under-21 defender, who spends many hours in the gym because he has to gain weight.
Since his arrival at West Ham, Adama has been able to play just a few minutes in the Premier, while his only start has come in the FA Cup.
The Spanish winger, who became international and played in a European Championship, during his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers he poured baby oil on his arms so that it would be easier to slip past the defenders and so that they could not catch him.
“Adama is a unique player. There are not many players in the world with his skill, his speed and his one-on-one ability. He is a talent that we are going to take advantage of, but it will take time. He has to adapt and understand the dynamics of the team. “He has shown it in Spain and in England, so we are talking about a high-level player.”
