With this crucial win, LG now awaits the outcome of the Seoul SK-Suwon KT semifinal series to determine their championship opponent. The team is set to compete for their first KBL title as the 2000-2001 season. For Hyundai Mobis, the defeat marks the end of their season, a disappointing conclusion after a hard-fought campaign.

Coach Cho Sang-hyun emphasized the importance of basic plays, stating before the game that small differences such as rebound and turnover are winning and losing. His words proved prophetic as LG’s resilience on the boards ultimately contributed to their victory.

The game was a back-and-forth affair, characterized by intense competition and multiple lead changes. The final moments were filled with drama. With 1 minute and 30 seconds remaining, Hyundai Mobis had an opportunity to tie the game with two free throws but failed to convert. Both teams then struggled to score, engaging in rushed possessions that yielded no points. In the closing seconds, Yang Joon-seok (17 points, 7 assists) delivered a crucial assist to Maray, who scored the go-ahead basket. Despite missing a free throw, LG secured the win by preventing Hyundai Mobis from getting a final shot off.
