“The interesting thing is that the fight is very contested, even though the difference between the first and the second is big. I expect interesting results in the next one or two months”. This is what former national player Radostin Kishishev told BNT. “Even at the beginning of the second half of the season, I said it would be difficult for Levski to maintain their lead, but a lot of games have already passed and they are still favorites for the title. A nine-point lead is a serious lead,” he said.
However, according to him, the people of Razgrad will be even more dangerous until the end of the campaign, since they are already out of the European tournaments and will be able to fully focus on the championship. Kishishev also commented on the role of the other leading teams “CSKA is an unpredictable team – it can achieve strong results, but also lose unexpectedly. CSKA 1948 can also confuse the accounts of both Levski and Ludogorets“, he added.
The former national player also touched on the topic of the work of the new management of the Bulgarian Football Union headed by Georgi Ivanov. “Positive changes are slowly being seen. I hope that next year things will take on an even better appearance,” Kishishev said. He also welcomed the decision for a wider imposition of Bulgarian footballers in their home clubs.
“This is a positive step. When only foreigners are bought, young Bulgarian players lose motivation,” he believes. Regarding the national team, Kishishev expressed moderate optimism. “The last matches showed a good game and there is a positive effect from the work of Alexander Dimitrov. The problem is that we currently do not have enough players at a high European level,” said the former defender.
