- EUR 15 million investment to expand capacity for premium viscose fibers at the Lenzing site
- Growth in the hygiene segment with a focus on sustainable, high-quality solutions
- Expansion of the trilobal special fiber VEOCEL™ Viscostar increases customer benefit and sustainable supply
Lenzing, November 12, 2025 – Lenzing AG is investing around EUR 15 million in expanding its production capacities for premium viscose fibers at the Lenzing, Austria location. This strategic measure is part of the recently announced investment program totaling EUR 100 million to ensure the long-term competitiveness of the Austrian locations. The capacity expansion underlines Lenzing’s clear commitment to sustainable solutions for the global hygiene market and strengthens the company’s role as a reliable provider of high-quality fibers for feminine hygiene applications.
“This investment is a significant step towards strengthening one of our core nonwovens businesses,” says Rohit Aggarwal, CEO of Lenzing AG. “It creates the basis for long-term growth and sustainable supply in a dynamic market environment.”
The focus is on expanding capacities and ensuring the highest quality standards for the trilobal special fiber VEOCEL™ Viscostar. This premium fiber outperforms conventional viscose in terms of Syngina values and, thanks to its characteristic cross-section, contributes significantly to efficient absorbency in tampon products. With the expansion, Lenzing can meet the growing demand of strategic customers while ensuring the highest quality standards.
“With this investment at our Lenzing location, we are once again reaffirming our commitment to sustainable innovations in the hygiene sector,” says Patricia A. Sargeant, EVP Commercial Nonwovens at Lenzing. “It is a clear signal of our long-term growth ambitions and our consistent customer focus.”
This initiative supports Lenzing’s strategic goals in the areas of premiumization, sustainability and technological differentiation. At the same time, it contributes to the further diversification of our portfolio of premium fibers and strengthens competitiveness in the hygiene sector.
