Darren McConachie, a resident of Glasgow, recently experienced a sudden onset of severe ear pain and diminished hearing in his left ear. Initially suspecting an infection, his doctor prescribed antibiotics. Though, the true cause was far more surprising than a simple infection.

McConachie described the escalating discomfort: I thought the ear would burst. The pressure was constantly increasing. It was unbearable. Then, a moment of relief arrived, accompanied by a startling discovery. I felt something small and hard. It relaxed and I thought it was a piece of inner ear.I was totally frightened.

To his astonishment, what emerged was not a piece of his anatomy, but a small, pink Lego brick, encrusted with earwax. The pain subsided considerably, and his hearing began to return.
