The husband of Vasilica Pourtu, a 35-year-old Romanian woman found stabbed to death in her Legnano home, has turned himself in to authorities. He denies any involvement in her death. The man, a 38-year-old road haulier, was wanted on a European arrest warrant for prior convictions in Romania related to property crimes.

He surrendered to Carabinieri in Brescia, stating, “I have nothing to do with this story,” maintaining his innocence. While no murder charges have been filed, investigators are exploring all possible leads, including the possibility that he surrendered to expedite extradition proceedings. the examination, led by the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Legnano and prosecutor Ciro Caramore of Busto Arsizio, is ongoing with tight secrecy.

Pourtu, who worked as an escort, lived with her 14-year-old son in Cinisello Balsamo but used the Legnano apartment on via Stelvio as a place of business. A neighbor discovered her body after noticing the apartment door ajar during a Sunday walk. Upon entering, the neighbor found Pourtu deceased in a pool of blood and immediately alerted emergency services.

The apartment, located in a residential area, was rented by a third party, who is also under investigation. There were no signs of forced entry, and a few hundred euros were found at the scene, suggesting the motive was not robbery. investigators are considering the possibility that a client may have been responsible for the crime.

Pourtu was found naked with a towel covering her face at approximately 2:30 p.m. She had sustained multiple stab wounds,estimated to be five or six,likely inflicted with a kitchen knife. The knife was left embedded in her back. Authorities are interviewing neighbors for any information about suspicious activity during the hours leading up to the discovery. The murder weapon is undergoing forensic analysis, with investigators hoping to find fingerprints if the perpetrator did not wear gloves.

Investigators are also examining Pourtu’s cell phone for clues. They believe her smartphone, used to schedule appointments, could provide insights into her recent meetings, calls, and messages. Older, archived threats are also being reviewed. additionally, local surveillance footage is being analyzed for any relevant images.
