A trial in Pesaro has focused on a lawyer accused of stalking his ex-partner’s new boyfriend. The prosecutor has requested an 18-month sentence. New details suggest GPS locators were allegedly used to monitor the couple.
The 65-year-old lawyer, identified as Mb from the Macerata area, is accused of failing to accept the end of his relationship and the woman’s subsequent relationship. He allegedly began to harass the woman, leading to a separate preliminary inquiry for stalking by the Ancona prosecutor’s office. In Pesaro, the focus is on his alleged actions against the “rival” boyfriend.
The accusations include frequent calls, messages, and anonymous letters, which prompted a restraining order against the lawyer, prohibiting him from approaching either the ex-girlfriend or her new partner. Prosecutors claim the communications contained threats, including “You have to die” addressed to both individuals, and “I will pave you” directed at the boyfriend. Another message stated, “I will make him fired.”
The lawyer allegedly promised to make them both pay, even contacting the boyfriend’s employer to discredit him. The prosecution also presented 30 anonymous letters, allegedly written by the lawyer, containing threatening messages such as, “You are a dead man, you are a corpse, you have a short time.”
Testimony Details Alleged Surveillance
The boyfriend testified in court about being stalked and followed by cars. He also claimed someone launched an incendiary device in his garden and that he received threats from two men. The boyfriend stated the woman had been persecuted and monitored, including through a GPS device placed under her car, which allegedly sent photos of the couple together. He also mentioned a drone allegedly used to surveil and photograph them.
“You are a dead man, you are a corpse, you have a short time.”
The woman,a 50-year-old from Pesaro,is a civil party in the case, represented by lawyer Cecilia Ascani, who is seeking 25,000 euros in damages. The defence lawyers, Giovanni Bora and Marco Manfredi, have pointed out inconsistencies in the accusations.
They argue the messages began after the woman decided to enroll her daughters in schools outside the father’s city. The defense also claims there is no concrete evidence of drone or GPS usage, and they requested an expert report on the anonymous letters. The defendant has reportedly filed a slander lawsuit against both the ex-girlfriend and her new partner. The prosecutor has requested a sentence of 1 year and 6 months. The judge has postponed the decision until October 3.
