The future of the Rasude district is finally taking shape. The City of Lausanne announces, this Monday, the public inquiry of the Allocation Plan. A decisive step for this real estate project located near the Lausanne station which is slow to take off. The CFF and the Mobimo group, owner of Flon, which own the areas in question, hoped that this procedure could be completed two years earlier, i.e. in 2023. But administrative constraints, in particular those linked to the preservation of heritage, have delayed the deadline.

This spring, the City and the two developers indicated, through a press release, a global overhaul of the project. Grégoire Junod, trustee of Lausanne, today justifies this resizing by “a conservative vision” of real estate assets. This includes in particular the maintenance of the building located at avenue de la Gare 45 which was initially condemned to be destroyed, as well as a reduction in the height of the buildings. But above all, the councilor insisted on the fact that this district would become a new place to live for the people of Lausanne. “La Rasude is today a monofunctional space, closed and without vegetation. We want it to become a pedestrian zone open to everyone, connecting the station to Avenue d’Ouchy.”
