LAS VEGAS— Two separate crashes in different parts of Las Vegas have left one pedestrian dead and another in critical condition on Saturday morning.
The first crash was reported around 5:38 a.m. at the intersection of Blue Diamond Road and Buffalo Drive in the southwest valley, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said.
In this incident, the pedestrian was walking outside of a crosswalk when they were hit. Medical personnel took them to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say they do not suspect impairment is a factor. The department’s Fatal Detail unit is responding to investigate.
The second crash was reported around 6:06 a.m. at Lake Mead and Nellis boulevards in the east valley.

This pedestrian was also outside of a crosswalk when they were hit by a car and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Impairment is not suspected in this case as well, according to LVMPD. Fatal Detail is investigating.
Drivers are asked to find alternate routes and avoid the intersections involved in these two crashes.
