Lap of Lights: ADI & Silverstone Festive Trail Returns

by Archynetys Sports Desk

Silverstone Circuit has relaunched its ‘Lap of Lights’ event with ADI delivering the UK’s only immersive two‑mile light trail on a racetrack.

The production has included 12 installations, more than 10,000 light fixtures, 35 lasers and 7,340 LED panels illuminating the Formula 1 circuit. Visitors have experienced synchronised screens, laser beams, flame machines and inflatable decorations, with themed sections such as the Glittering Gateway and Candy Cane Curve leading to the Sir Hamilton Pit Straight.

The event has also featured interactive elements including an AI “Santa Cam”, quizzes and a dedicated soundtrack on ELF FM. ADI’s creative team has produced over 100 bespoke video and animation pieces incorporating Formula 1 stars, festive scenes and classic films.

Silverstone has worked with ADI since 2015, with the partnership covering major events including the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, which welcomed a record 500,000 spectators in 2025. ADI has continued to expand its site‑wide solutions to meet growing demand, introducing new entertainment stages and digital infrastructure to enhance the fan experience.

Tanya Cash, Head of Public Events at Silverstone, has said the relaunch has offered a more immersive journey of light, sound and storytelling. Thomas Taylor, Head of Sales & Sports Presentation at ADI, has added that the collaboration has aimed to create a multisensory festive experience for visitors driving on the same track used by Formula 1 champions.

The return of ‘Lap of Lights’ has reflected the wider trend of UK venues investing in large‑scale seasonal attractions, with motorsport audiences continuing to grow and diversify in 2025.
