Languidic: Playful Guidance Game by Local Office

Explore Languidic’s Pont-Screign Valley: A New Orientation Game for All

Discovering Languidic Through Play: The Local Animation Office’s Initiative

The Local Animation Office (OLA) has introduced an engaging way to experience the Pont-Screign valley in Languidic: an orientation game designed for individuals, pairs, and families. Launched on Sunday,April 27,2025,this event offers a unique blend of outdoor exploration and mental stimulation.

More Than just a Race: A Focus on Observation and Teamwork

Unlike a customary race, the OLA emphasizes a collaborative and observant approach. As Cécile Malry, treasurer of OLA, explains, It’s not a race, but a friendly moment to read a card, observe and find beacons. This focus encourages participants to appreciate the surroundings and work together to navigate the course.

Course Details and participation Information

Volunteers rigorously tested the two available courses, ensuring accessibility and enjoyment for all skill levels. Participants can choose between a 2.5 km route and a longer 4.5 km option. The event welcomes solo adventurers, dynamic duos, and families seeking a shared experience.

The cost to participate is €5 per group, which includes one map. Additional maps are available for €2 each, allowing larger groups to spread out and explore independently. This pricing structure makes the event accessible to a wide range of participants.

Event Logistics: Registration and Start Time

Participants can register for the orientation game through Hello Asso until april 23rd, ensuring a smooth check-in process on the day of the event. On april 27th, registration and welcome will take place between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM on the ground floor of the media and arts space (EMA), providing a central and easily accessible meeting point.

The Growing Popularity of Outdoor Orientation Activities

The OLA’s initiative taps into the growing trend of outdoor orientation activities. According to a recent report by the Outdoor Industry Association, participation in outdoor recreation activities has increased by 6.1% in the past year, with activities like hiking and orienteering seeing significant growth. This reflects a broader societal shift towards valuing outdoor experiences and active lifestyles.
