The 2024 report of the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change by Marina Romanello and colleagues is a tremendous scientific contribution.1 Although the Lancet Countdown series over the years have occasionally mentioned the pregnant population as especially vulnerable to climate change and heat stress, we argue that this link has not been sufficiently acknowledged. Similarly, many governmental health agencies, including the UK National Health Service, do not mention the pregnant population as a risk group during heatwaves.
