POLITICAL CRIME, WE SAID in the last installment of Ciudad Perdida and the visible data have confirmed to us that unfortunately the death of Carlos Manzo, the mayor in Uruapan, as much as one wants to believe, was not a commissioned attack, but rather a murder that was intended, that intends, rather, to destabilize the government.
THERE IS NO DATA, at least for the moment, that tells us that it was this or that cartel that ordered Manzo’s death. The attack, until now, is shrouded in a mystery little or nothing used by drug traffickers. It does not seem like revenge or warning, arguments used by criminals to justify their actions.
BUT IN THE LACK of a public demand by the members of the cartels that kill in the lands of Michoacan, the voices of members of the political parties opposed to the 4T have emerged, who without political arguments jump on the errors – it does not matter if they are true or not – of the government to try to derail it in a perverse desire to disqualify the actions that today have President Sheinbaum with a percentage of popular approval above 70 percent, which leaves them, once again, without the great profits to which the neoliberal regime had accustomed them.
THEY PLAYED IT COMPLETELY. Not only the fury of the speech in the legislative sphere, but also the show of the hats and the threats in the gringo mouth to “come and put order in Mexico”, invited by the usual expatriates, ready to sell anything, even what is not theirs.
EVEN IF IT IS NOT the most politically correct, the speech of Manzo’s widow, now municipal president of one of the most difficult places in the country, stands out, anyway, a speech of flights that only the most experienced in those arts can achieve and that must be analyzed very carefully. This is because it is not known that Manzo’s widow had minimal political training; What’s more, without it being known that that part of life, governing under an idea, was of interest to him.
THUS THE surprise of those very well articulated and clear words, very clear in their orientation from Grecia Quiroz, Manzo’s widow, who seems to go beyond revenge to warn what the right wing undoubtedly has in mind: convert (use) it to their benefit.
MAKE NO MISTAKE, behind the “hat” there is no government plan in Uruapan, not one that is specific to its local government, but although no one believes it, there is a manifest destiny for the municipality designed from the right. That’s what they’re doing.
SO THERE WAS NOT just a reaction of hate. The matter was a political issue. The threads of resentment moved their dolls. It was obvious, the attacks on López Obrador rose incessantly to disqualify Sheinbaum. Hands of the true right, not that of the rotten parties, set fire to what they thought was land ready for general arson, but the game was so obvious that beyond the crime, very few gave room to the fallacious accusations and the discourse that assumes that another Corina Machado can be built in Michoacán.
BUT IT WON’T BE easy. The government’s rapid response did not wait for bureaucratic times and the plan to truncate what seems to be the inevitable fate of Michoacán is underway and could be the idea that leads the country to climates of peace and development that are needed. For now, there is this first step that will surely enrage those with the hat. Waters with the reaction.
In passing
SO WELL sheltered by the right, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega celebrated, only with her people, one year of government in the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office.
WHILE IN THE streets of the same mayor’s office, potholes have multiplied, the sidewalks are impassable, insecurity has grown, although yes, the signs that talk about that first year have multiplied as much as the neglect in the mayor’s large parks, so yes, congratulations. Ale… you’re doing very well.
