This week I spent time in our Greater Los Angeles market visiting two branches whose journeys could not be more different—but whose impact reflects the same spirit of resilience, service, and community partnership.
Our Palisades team has been through a challenging year. The wildfires that devastated the community caused significant damage to the branch, forcing months of mitigation and reconstruction. Yet throughout that time, the team stayed connected to clients—finding creative ways to provide access, support, and reassurance when it mattered most.
Walking through the fully renovated branch and hearing how grateful clients are for that presence was a powerful reminder of what it means to serve with heart.
In Compton, we celebrated a new beginning. Our new branch represents commitments we made through the Union Bank acquisition and our long-standing belief in the strength of this community. Spending time with the team—and with families, business owners, local officials, and community partners—made clear the difference we can make when we invest our time, resources, and belief into a place.
Both visits reinforced something I see every day across U.S. Bank: When our teams lead with purpose, our communities feel it.
Thank you to the incredible leaders who joined us this week, including Chief Impact Officer, Greg Cunningham, MBA, our new California head, Brian Formisano and LA leadership including, Malgy Blue, MBA, Shahrzad Panahi, Hovanes Keshishyan, Francine Flores, Jennifer Lopez, and many more. Also thank you to our clients who welcomed us with such warmth and optimism. I left Los Angeles inspired by what we’ve accomplished—and even more energized by what lies ahead.
Presence is powerful. And our teams continue to prove it.
