Kyiv’s Response to Trump’s Peace Plan | DW News

Ukraine on Wednesday, December 10, provided the US administration with a detailed response to the latest draft peace plan to end the war started by Russia. This was reported to Axios. According to Axios, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, who heads the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations, sent an official response containing comments and proposed amendments to Jared Kushner, adviser and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump.

After several days of consultations with their European allies, mainly Britain, France and Germany, Ukrainian negotiators outlined new ideas for resolving issues of territory and the status of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant seized by Russian troops.

Vladimir Zelensky said in a nightly video messagethat based on the 20-point peace plan, two more documents are being prepared on relations with the United States: on US security guarantees and on the restoration of Ukraine and joint investments. According to the Ukrainian president, on December 10, “in fact, the first meeting of the group that will work on a document on the restoration and economic revival of Ukraine” took place. On the American side, it was attended by Jared Kushner, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and the head of one of the world’s largest investment companies, BlackRock, Larry Fink.

Senior military officials from the United States and Ukraine are expected to hold a virtual meeting on December 11 to continue discussing the US peace plan, Axios writes.
