[Updated at 12:08]: Kyiv’s air defense systems successfully intercepted six Russian Iskander-M ballistic missiles aimed at the city, according to Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA). The Air Force confirmed these interceptions.
“Iskander-M missiles are highly dangerous and difficult to neutralize; even debris from fallen missiles can cause significant damage,” Tkachenko stated on Telegram.

The attack resulted in damage to residential buildings, an office complex, and non-residential infrastructure across the Holosiivskyi, Svyatoshynskyi, Obolonskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Pecherskyi districts. By 10:00 a.m., all fires in Kyiv had been extinguished or contained.
While there were reports of falling debris and damage in the Podilskyi and Solomyanskyi districts, as well as certain sites in Holosiivskyi, these claims have not been verified.
Tkachenko confirmed the death of a Kyiv resident born in 1985, a fact also corroborated by the prosecutor’s office.
[Updated at 9:03]: President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the latest Russian attack, writing on Telegram: “At night, Russia launched ballistic missiles and drones against Ukraine, inflicting damage on apartment buildings, office complexes, and civilian infrastructure.”
He offered condolences to the family and friends of the person killed in Kyiv.
“This Russian terror will not stop on its own. Putin remains committed to killing Ukrainians and destroying cities,” Zelensky stated.

Over 80 rescuers and 17 fire and rescue units are active at the scene of the incidents.

Dozens of explosions were heard across Kyiv around 4:30 a.m. local time. Russian forces reportedly launched at least four Iskander M/KN-23 ballistic missiles at the Ukrainian capital.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported fires in the Holosiivsky, Podil, and Svyatoshynsky districts. An industrial zone in the Obolon district experienced a raging fire.
Much of the damage was caused by debris from the intercepted missiles.
Fires erupted at multiple locations. In the Svyatoshynsky district, a fire started on the roof of a nine-story building. In Darnytsia, a fire occurred near a private enterprise.
