Kyiv Blackout Schedule Update: December 30 Changes

by Archynetys News Desk

What is known about the blackout in Kyiv

Residents of the capital were explained that the planned shutdown schedules were temporarily not in effect. In Kyiv, emergency blackouts were introduced to urgently support the operation of the energy system.

Let us note that after the massive Russian attack on December 27, emergency power outages continue on the left bank of Kyiv. According to power engineers, some areas of the Left Bank have already been restored, and in some places, power on and off have begun to come as close as possible to planned schedules.

The main difficulty is that the Kyiv energy system was previously formed separately for the left and right banks. Because of this, there are not enough reserves, and now they are working to increase the capacity of substations and the volume of electricity flows between banks in order to ensure more predictable outages.

Energy workers add that thermal units and networks are being restored, and the system is gradually approaching stable planned shutdown schedules that can replace emergency blackouts.

DTEK denied that emergency shutdowns apply throughout Kyiv.

Left Bank: emergency shutdowns continue in Darnitsky, Dnieper and Desnyansky districts.

Right bank: planned shutdown schedules are in effect.

“Fakes are spread on social networks and telegram channels. Trust only official sources,” DTEK said.
