Last week, Ksenia Nezhenkina, the brightest participant of the show Through the Thorns to… Season 7, appeared in court, as reported in Aija Ozoliņa’s material “Show Star on the Accused’s Bench” in the “Privatā Dzīve” publication.
Last November, Ksenia caused a traffic accident – she accidentally hit the road signs that were recently installed before entering Jēkabpils from the Riga side.
The damage was serious – the one led by Ksenia suffered Volkswagen Polobut she got through only with a scare, because she was wearing a seat belt. Ksenia says that she was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident, but she refused to undergo an expert examination. This was requested by the police, who met Xenia after the accident – the car owner had already left the scene and reached her yard.
For refusing to take part in the expert examination, Ksenia ended up in the dock.
“I didn’t understand why I was being asked to do it at all, so I refused. At that time, I didn’t know that the laws had been changed and the most severe responsibility – a criminal case – was applicable. I only found out about it at the police station,” says Ksenia.
“For refusing to blow a pipe, I have been sentenced to a five-year disqualification, probation supervision for a year and a half and a fine equal to the value of the car – 250 euros. I will be able to pay it in installments,” says Ksenia and says that she will appeal the decision of the first instance – she has ten days to do so. This fine is smaller than the others – in connection with the same accident, she was sentenced to a 300-euro fine as compensation for the damaged tickets, as well as a 25-euro fine for leaving the scene.
