The alleged perpetrator, wearing a gray checkered shirt, glasses, and a green mask, remained silent throughout the encounter.

The Account of George Marzel Tapilatu: A Commuter’s Viewpoint

george Marzel Tapilatu, 28, identified himself as the man who intervened. Speaking to Archnetys News, Tapilatu recounted the events leading up to his intervention. He boarded the train at Tanah Abang Station during the evening rush hour, a time when trains are typically packed.

according to Tapilatu, his suspicions were aroused shortly after the train departed Kebayoran Station. He noticed a man standing uncomfortably close to a female passenger. “The perpetrator, in my opinion, was to attached (to a female passenger) until his stomach was hit by the victim’s back. It was already unnatural,” Tapilatu stated.

I promptly pulled the perpetrator’s neck. Heh, swallowed?. People were shocked around. After that I immediately confirmed to the victim.

As the train emptied slightly, Tapilatu observed that the man made no attempt to create more space between himself and the woman. This solidified his belief that the man’s actions were inappropriate, prompting him to take action.
