Kristin Davis Recalls Being Ghosted by Actor After Lending $5,000
You know that episode of Sex and the City where Berger ditches Carrie with a Post-It note? Well, it sounds like Kristin Davis had a similar experience — except there was no letter, and the person ran off with $5,000.
Kristin detailed her encounter on a recent episode of her podcast, Are You a Charlotte?
During the conversation with SATC guest star Sarah Wynter on ghosting, Kristin shared a personal story. “I did once date this out-of-work actor,” she recalled, emphasizing that the events took place between Melrose Place (1995-1996) and Sex and the City (1998-2004). “He’s now very successful. He was very talented.”
“At the time, I had some money because I’d been working,” Kristin explained. “I went to his house, and there were all these bills — electricity, water, heat notices — all over his house. I was concerned and offered to help.”
When she suggested lending him some cash, Kristen noted, “He really needed the money because his motorcycle, which he used to get to auditions, was totaled. I trusted him and lent him $5,000.”
However, the transaction led to a bitter end. “After giving him the money, he stopped calling,” she recounted, describing it as “a horrible mistake.”
Though Kristin didn’t divulge the actor’s name, she shared more details about his current life. “He’s now married and has children. He lives in the countryside.”
Her experience led Kristin to a valuable lesson. “You live and you learn,” Sarah echoed. Kristin agreed with her and advised, “Never lend money to someone you’re dating. It rarely ends well.”
