PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa goverment is set to transition from its current unfunded pension system to a funded model by the year 2045. This shift will occur once all employees hired under the previous scheme are expected to have retired, according to official documents.
The existing unfunded pension scheme for government employees was replaced in 2022 with a contributory pension system.
