Recently,⁤ Amylyx announced a significant setback in the realm of‌ ALS treatment with the failure of their FDA-approved drug, Relyvrio,‌ in ‍a crucial Phase III trial. This news comes as a ‌blow to the hopes of many, as Relyvrio was once seen as a beacon ‌of hope in the fight against the deadly neurodegenerative disease.

The implications of this failure are far-reaching, potentially ‌jeopardizing patient access to the drug. Amylyx has even hinted at ‌the possibility of withdrawing⁤ Relyvrio from the market in light of these disappointing⁤ results.

Upon the release ‍of new Phase III trial data involving 664 ALS patients, it became evident that Relyvrio failed to demonstrate superiority over a placebo. Not only did the drug fall short on the primary outcome measure, but it also missed the mark on all secondary endpoints, including ‍quality-of-life assessments, disease progression evaluation, and muscle function tests. The p-value associated with the trial’s primary endpoint was 0.667, ⁢indicating a lack of statistical significance.

Bank Of Canada Key Rate Analysis: Impact On…

2024-03-08 09:00:00

Not surprisingly, the Bank of Canada decided to stay the course this week by maintaining its key rate at 5% – for a fifth time in a row. Its governor Tiff Macklem remains concerned about the rising cost of housing, the factor that contributes the most to inflation in the country.

We do not want to maintain such a restrictive monetary policy any longer than necessary. But we also do not want to compromise the progress we have made to reduce inflation, he said at a press briefing in Ottawa on Wednesday.

Its monetary tightening strategy may, however, seem counterproductive: high interest rates, which succeed in calming demand and slowing price increases in several sectors of the Canadian economy, still weigh on owners who hold a mortgage.

In January, the cost of mortgage interest jumped 27.8% in one year. Many landlords pass on part of this cost to tenants. Rents increased by almost 8% during the same period.

High interest rates are also chilling real estate developers,

Madagascar is currently participating in the International Tourism Bourse exhibition which is taking place in Berlin. The participation of the Big Island is organized by the National Tourism Office in collaboration with the Integrated Growth Poles (PIC) project as well as the supervisory ministry. For the country’s representatives, the objective is simple and remains with the aim of developing the Malagasy tourism sector. The aim is to attract as many European visitors as possible to Madagascar. The destination is certainly well known, but it remains to be promoted for maximum visibility.

For various tourist operators and promoters of this sector in the country, it is a platform of choice to defend the tourist interests of the Red Island and really get this pillar of the economy off the ground. The image that the National Tourist Office is currently trying to sell is that of a treasure island, with its unique biodiversity. Enough to attract potential tourists who will come to visit the country. The International Tourism Bourse in Berlin is one of the world’s most important networking fairs for the tourism sector.

Find Out What Gasoline And Diesel Prices Will…

#Find #gasoline #diesel #prices #week #Executive #Digest

After a week in ‘rollercoaster’ mode – with the price of 95 gasoline rising and diesel prices falling -, from next Monday you can expect a ‘rain’ of lower prices: this is because fuel prices will fall price, albeit slightly. “The evolution of quotations in euros points to a drop in prices of up to 0.5 cents per liter for 95 gasoline and a drop of 1.5 cents per liter for diesel,” a source from one of the main national oil companies told ‘Executive Digest ‘.

In the same vein, prices at gas stations next to hypermarkets will follow the market trend, with a “drop of 0.0032 euros for gasoline and 0.0128 euros for diesel”, said another source.

Data from the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG) show that the average price of a liter of straight diesel in Portugal currently costs 1.629 euros per liter, while that of straight 95 gasoline is worth 1.736 euros.

According to data from DGEG, this will be the fourth time in 2024 that diesel has dropped in price: even so,

Chinas Exports Surge In 2023, Raising Trade Tensions:…

China’s exports have gained momentum at the start of the year, putting the government on track to meet this year’s ambitious growth target but raising the possibility of rising trade tensions.

While export growth in January-February was much higher than the 3% expected by economists polled by The Wall Street Journal earlier this week, the market reaction to the increase came after top Chinese officials disclosed the data a day early. The high value has already been expected in my heart.

On Wednesday, China’s Commerce Minister and Director of the National Development and Reform Commission told reporters at a press conference during the National People’s Congress that exports increased by about 10% year-on-year in January and February this year.

They did not specify at the time whether the price would be in yuan or U.S. dollars. Official data released on Thursday showed that exports in yuan in January and February increased by 10.3% year-on-year.

The Chinese government combines the release of economic data from January to February to eliminate the disturbance caused by the annual Spring Festival holiday time shift. Many companies suspended operations during the Spring Festival holiday.

This is also the second time this year that Chinese officials have disclosed key economic indicators in advance.

Several Media Reports Ren Benko Files For Bankruptcy…

As an entrepreneur, René Benko has submitted his own application to the Innsbruck Regional Court to open insolvency proceedings. The Tyrolean real estate investor may also be facing personal bankruptcy. There is a legal difference here, but in practice probably less so because Benko, as a sole proprietor, is liable with all of his assets.

“Kronen Zeitung” and “Standard” had previously reported online about Benko’s submission of an application. The judge is expected to decide in the coming days on the application of the entrepreneur who founded the real estate and trading group Signa, said the spokeswoman for the Innsbruck regional court.

Reports that Benko had filed for so-called personal bankruptcy were incorrect, she emphasized. The legal representation of the Republic of Austria had previously filed an application for insolvency against 46-year-old Benko at the regional court. Among other things, this involved a subsidy that Benko had announced for the insolvent holding company of the Signa Group, which had not yet been fully paid.

A so-called “insolvency opening meeting” took place in mid-February. Benko was not required to be present at the closed hearing in his hometown in February and, unsurprisingly, did not appear.
