We wondered how the host would talk about the “hot issue” that has shaken the comedy world in recent weeks. She did it right from the start.
“I am delighted to see you again for a second year,” she said to the audience in the Pierre-Mercure room. The world of humor which offers me a second chance… not everyone is entitled to that! »
Then she went on to say that this year’s gala would be quiet because nothing has happened since March 2025. “Nothing. No scandal. Dead calm. It doesn’t seem obvious, but that line was written three weeks ago. Just for Laughs heard me and said: I’ll take care of it. »

Removed from the list
The comedian then addressed the Journal’s recent list of the 50 most notable comedians of the last 25 years. “Your humble host, out of 50, I am 53rd. I was put in the section of the most forgotten…! […] Thanks for putting out this list. This is really what we needed in the comedy world, a new list. »
Korine continued on another file of the Journal which talked about the 100 comedians performing at the same time. There are so many comedians performing that you have to book rooms up to three years in advance.
“I have a better chance of seeing a doctor in the public to have a skin tag removed than going to play in Terrebonne. […] Would you like to go to Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce in October 2029? Probably not. Not even sure that the Earth will still be there in 2029. I’m not going to book myself three evenings in Saint-Lin. »
Noted appearances
Claude Bégin, Alain Goldberg, Yvon Deschamps (in video), Marjo, Patrick Sénécal and Ricardo Trogi made an appearance during this intro monologue which hit the nail on the head several times.
Later during the gala, Korine made the audience burst into laughter by arriving dressed as a member of the group Angine de Poitrine. She then pretended to be part of the group and began to introduce the next comedian by speaking like the two “extra-terrestrial” musicians.
