A South Korean citizen, recently abducted in the Philippines, has been freed after a three-day ordeal. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Filipino authorities secured the release of the individual on the morning of May 5th, local time. The abduction occurred on May 2nd while the Korean national was traveling with two Chinese citizens and two Filipinos towards Nasugbu, a location approximately 90 kilometers southwest of Manila.

Reports indicate that a group of seven to eight individuals perpetrated the kidnapping. Following the abduction, one member of the group, identified as “B,” was released by the kidnappers near a road, allowing them to report the incident to a nearby police station. The circumstances surrounding B’s release remain unclear.
