Kochi: Commercial LPG crisis in the state is acute. About 70 percent of the hotels in Kochi were closed. Hotels that had stock of gas cylinders have also gone into crisis. Some hotels have switched to wood burning. It is reported that two hotels will be opened today using firewood. With the complete closure of hotels, the state is also likely to face food shortage.

The cylinder is supplied from the plant at Udayamperur, Kochi. But the plant has stopped working. Domestic cylinder was distributed but that too has almost stopped. Interventions are being made at the government level but are not effective.
