Klopp & Wirtz: Liverpool’s £100m Transfer Limit

Juergen Klopp said that he would not bring in Florian Wirtz at a price of more than 100 million. Even so, he did not want to judge Wirtz’s transfer to Liverpool.

Liverpool brought Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen on the exchange this summer. The Reds spent 116 million (Rp 2.5 trillion) to recruit Wirtz.

Wirtz is the most expensive purchase in the history of the Red. Wirtz’s transfer broke the previous record when Liverpool brought Darwin Nunez from Benfica worth 85 million in 2022.

Liverpool are somewhat active in the transfer market this summer. Besides Wirtz, Liverpool also brought Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.

Former Liverpool manager, Juergen Klopp, assessed that the Red Step in the transfer market is currently showing their financial power to follow the market. The steps that will not be taken by Klopp while still gush the Marseyside club.

He stressed that he would not buy wirtz if the price was above 100 million. Even so, this German man still appreciated Liverpool’s efforts to strengthen the team by bringing in Wirtz.

Klopp does not want to conclude the movement of Liverpool in the transfer market right or not. Time will answer.

“We all agreed that we talked about great players here. I know that I once said that I would not buy it if we paid 100 million for a player. But the world is changing. That’s the market,” Klopp told Welt.

“I don’t know which position Arne planned for Florian appropriately. He is an extraordinary player who can give something big for any club. Will he make the defending champion Britain better, still have to be seen,” he explained.
