“The building was on fire at the time the units arrived, the intervention took place with the dismantling of structures and extinguishing of hidden fires. The structure remained, but the wooden interiors and the roof burned down. The cause of the fire is still under investigation,” said Miroslav Marek, managing officer of the regional fire department.
Both professional and volunteer units went to the fire, which, in addition to extinguishing, also had to protect the surrounding buildings and ensure the safe exit of people from the accommodation premises in the building.
There is a crystal glass grinding shop in the building with a brick part and wooden elements. The fire started in the attic. Firefighters had to dismantle the burning parts, extinguish them and search for hidden sources.
No one was injured. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters continued to check structures and search for hidden sources to prevent further spread of the fire.
