So far, the emergency room in Kladno is from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., which is longer than the new rule requires. From March 1, according to the new decree, the emergency room will only be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. “On working days, the operation remains unchanged, i.e. from 5 to 9 p.m.,” added hospital spokesman Zbyněk Boublík.
The medical emergency service is intended for patients with sudden health problems that cannot be delayed until the general practitioner’s office hours, but at the same time they are not dealing with immediately life-threatening conditions.
When the medical emergency service for adults is not in operation, the acute and emergency department is available to patients at the Kladno Regional Hospital 24/7. This provides care for serious and suddenly arising health problems and conditions threatening health or life.
The office hours of the medical emergency service for children remain unchanged at the Kladno hospital. It will continue to operate on weekdays from 5 to 9 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. “Thus, in the case of a pediatric emergency, the hospital significantly exceeds the minimum time frame set by the decree,” added Boublík.
A regulatory fee of 90 crowns is paid for treatment at a medical emergency. If the patient is admitted to hospital after the examination, the regulatory fee is not paid.
