South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun caused controversy when it was revealed that he dated Kim Sae-ron when he was underage. According to a report by Yonhap News Agency, the National Science and Technology Search Agency reported to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station that it was “unable to determine” in November whether Kim Sae-ron’s recording file involved AI fraud. It is reported that after accepting the commission from the police, Guokesou conducted an appraisal of the audio file. However, due to technical limitations, it was unable to determine whether the recording was synthesized by AI or manipulated and modified.

The police are currently conducting a digital forensic investigation on YouTuber Jin Shiyi‘s mobile phones, tablets and other seized items to confirm whether the content in the recording file is false. In addition, Park Jung-bo, Director of the Seoul Police Department, said at a regular press conference yesterday (15th): “We have received the results of digital evidence collection and are currently entering the final stage of the investigation. Because the relevant investigation has been largely completed, a conclusion is expected to be reached soon.”

Previously, Kim Sae-ron’s family released an audio file through Kim Se-yi, saying that the recording was left by Kim Sae-ron during his lifetime. The content mentioned that Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun when he was a minor. In response, Kim Soo-hyun retorted that the recording was a “recording file fabricated through AI” and sued Kim Se-yi and the woman’s family for defamation.
