Even after his son became a world-famous cricketer, his father Khanchand Singh continued to distribute gas cylinders on the streets of Aligarh. Khanchand continued that job until he was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. Rinku’s father also played an important role in his career. Initially opposed to Rinku’s love for cricket, he was an LPG cylinder distributor and later did what was necessary for his cricket training under severe financial constraints. It is that shade of love that Rinku is now missing during a crucial tournament. Rinku’s father Khanchand Singh died on Friday morning while undergoing treatment at Yatarth Hospital in Greater Noida due to cancer.

After Rinku became a regular in the Indian T20 team, a video of Khanchand Singh taking LPG cylinders to a truck in Aligarh went viral. Rinku himself has said many times that he asked his father to quit his job and take a break, but he was not ready to do so.
Earlier, Rinku along with his father and brothers used to deliver gas cylinders from house to house. The actor was born in a very ordinary family in Aligarh. Rinku was the third of Khanchand’s five children. At first his father did not agree with Rinku’s dreams as he loved cricket. Khanchand’s wish was to make Rinku a worker to change the suffering of the family. But later he was following his son’s dream.
Along with studying, Rinku also cared about helping his father. Rinku took the cylinders to homes and hotels on his bike and also took cricket practice. In 2021, when Rinku was injured, the father fasted for three days for his son’s health. Khanchand had said that he was very proud of Rinku’s rise. The father also said that he now feels guilty for not encouraging his son’s talent in the first place.
Rinku later also owned a luxurious bungalow in the same city where he eventually lived with his family in a one-room house. As per his father’s wish, Rinku bought a bungalow in Ozone City, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh for Rs 3.5 crore. Finally, Khanchand bids farewell after seeing his son win the hearts of his fans with his batting prowess.
