A Night in a Shrek Latex Head

Dundon recalled the grueling process of preparing for his Shrek routine. He spent two hours in a makeup chair to transform himself into the lovable green ogre. “The producers told me if I wanted to do Shrek, they had a make-up artist,” he said. “So I ended up in that chair for two hours. It was comfortable but I was in that head all day.”

Disaster Strikes: Shrek Goes Rogue

Despite a successful dress rehearsal, Kevin’s live performance took an unexpected turn. “I missed my first step, so Shrek went rogue for most of the dance,” he admitted. The jive was described by the judges as “a sticky, gloopy mess.”

The Judge’s Controversial ScoringBrian Redmond’s decision to award only two points sparked controversy. Dundon was indignant about the low score, emphasizing his effort, stating, “Surely that’s worth more than two points, Brian?”

The Public Vote and Elaine Crowley’s Elimination

Despite the judges’ harsh feedback, Kevin survived the public vote to stay on the show while Ireland AM host Elaine Crowley was eliminated. Dundon addressed his friend’s departure, saying, “It was tough seeing Elaine go as she is a close friend.” He also emphasized the public’s role in keeping him on the show.

Kevin Dundon’s Ambition for the Show

Kevin expressed his determination to improve his scores and potentially secure immunity in the upcoming Dedication Week. “I’m thinking, if I can bring my scores up even slightly with the public vote, I might get immunity and you might have to put up with me until week eight,” he shared his hopeful predictions.

His Tango Dedication to His Wife

For the upcoming dance, Kevin plans to execute a Tango to David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” in honor of his wife, Catherine, whom he has been married to for three decades. “Catherine is the backbone of the family. We met when we were 17 at Blinkers nightclub in Leopardstown. Catherine was wearing a yellow jumpsuit and our first dance was to Bowie’s Let’s Dance,” Kevin said, emphasizing his deep connection and gratitude to his wife.
