The complexity of this project was mainly in the back-end integration. The existing loyalty program had to be linked to both physical savings cards and a new digital environment. There were tens of thousands of card numbers in circulation (including dormant customers), all of which had to be migrated at once to one centralized digital platform.
In addition, the Intersolve, Touch Incentive and Apadmi systems work seamlessly together. Exchanging data between these parties – such as card numbers, personal data, e-mail addresses and shipping information – required strict attention to privacy and data security.
Moreover, because reward points represent a direct monetary value, fraud prevention was an essential additional security requirement.
