Playing without three potential starters, the Kentucky Wildcats struggled mightily against the Georgetown Hoyas Thursday night, falling 84-70 in the second of two exhibition games before the regular season starts next Tuesday.
Kentucky could not get shots to fall throughout the 40 minutes, shooting just 20-60 from the field and 7-30 from 3-point range. The Wildcats were also just 23-35 from the free-throw line.
It was a rough and sloppy night for the Wildcats, with 15 turnovers to just 14 assists. Despite winning the rebound battle 38-30, Georgetown was much better and more efficient offensively. The Hoya shot 55.4 percent from the field and 17-23 from the free-throw line.
On a night where nobody got going on offense for the Wildcats, Oweh managed to grind out a 17-point performance. He was 4/12 from the field and 8/11 from the free-throw line. Not his best effort, but still a solid one that kept this score from looking even more lopsided.
