College basketball fans anticipating matchups in the Southeastern Conference will have at least one contest between the Kentucky Wildcats and the Arkansas Razorbacks to look forward to.

According to Jon Rothstein,the Wildcats and Razorbacks will meet only once during the 2025-26 season. The game will be held in Fayetteville, at Bud walton Arena.

Both programs are expected to be strong contenders. On3 has the Wildcats ranked No. 5 and the Razorbacks at No. 11 in their way-too-early rankings. Each team retains vital players from their sweet 16 squads from last season.

Kentucky welcomes back its leading scorer, otega oweh, and Brandon Garrison. Arkansas sees the return of Karter Knox, DJ Wagner, Billy Richmond, and Trevon Brazile.

Last season, on February 1st, the Wildcats hosted the Razorbacks in what marked John calipari’s return to Lexington after he departed for Arkansas in April 2024. Arkansas won that game 89-79, which served as a catalyst for their eventual Sweet 16 run.

Looking Ahead to the 2025-26 Season

After leading the Wildcats to their first sweet 16 appearance in six years, Coach Pope hopes that a strong transfer portal class and the return of Oweh will propel the team to compete for a national championship.

While the complete SEC Men’s Basketball schedule isn’t yet available, it is confirmed that the wildcats will face Arkansas only on the road.

In the 16-team SEC format, each team plays three opponents both home and away, six opponents only at home, and six opponents only on the road.
