Anton Kasser (ÖVP) was elected to the new regional council on Thursday in the state parliament with 52 out of 56 possible votes. The previous member of the state parliament and long-term mayor of Allhartsberg (Amstetten district) follows Ludwig Schleritzko.

Discussion about Dukovany nuclear power plant

The planned expansion of the Czech nuclear power plant Dukovany, which is 30 kilometers from the Austrian border, was also discussed in the state parliament on Thursday.
