Duszyński also announced that the investigation into the exceeding of the rights by former directors of the Museum of the Second World War was extended by December 1. Investigators want to determine whether the directors – including Karol Nawrocki – rented luxury apartments and paid for them. It is a total of 200 days.

Duszyński passed on PAP that the prosecutor’s office already has a criminal analysis regarding the booking of apartments in the museum, which was compiled with holidays, dismissals and official meetings of directors.

– Currently, the prosecutor is familiar with the analysis. Only after its assessment will he decide to carry out further procedural activities, including possible interrogations of subsequent witnesses – he added.

The initiation of the investigation by the prosecutor’s office was the aftermath of media reports that Nawrocki as the director of the museum for over half a year used the Deluxe apartment in the museum hotel complex, although he lived barely 5 km from him and did not pay for his stay.

In mid-January Nawrocki at a press conference said that during the Covid-19 pandemic he spent a 10-day quarantine twice in the apartment, performing his duties remotely. He stated that it was not true that he lived there for 200 days. The apartment was reserved in his name for so many days. He also noted that the premises served “for business meetings with guests from abroad and from the country.”
