following : Palakunn Kazhagam concluded the small Kalamkanip at the Bhagavathy Temple. Pandarakalam was first offered to the temple at around ten o’clock on Tuesday morning. Then hundreds of devotees offered offerings of dried saffron, jaggery, coconut, rice powder, betel leaves, betel nut and kuruthola in new earthen pots to the temple.

As Prasad to the devotees, the temple served dried saffron porridge and mango pickle served in earthen pots. After swinging the kalash at dusk, the devotees returned to their homes after receiving the pots filled with the cooked offerings. This ceremony in the month of Dhanum precedes the Maha Kalamkanip on February 6.
