Joshua Returns to Training After Car Crash | Boxing News

by Archynetys Sports Desk

Less than three weeks after the fatal car accident in Nigeria in which two of his friends and carers died, former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua is training again. Video clips on social media show the Brit, among other things, training on the claws; the 36-year-old wrote: “Mental Strength Therapy” (German: therapy for mental strength).

On December 29th, Anthony Joshua was a passenger in a serious accident and escaped with minor injuries, while his long-time companions Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami died at the scene of the accident. Ghami was Joshua’s long-time strength and conditioning coach, Ayodele his personal coach.

Afterwards there was speculation about whether Joshua could end his career. “I think AJ is always a very positive guy” Promoter Eddie Hearn said on Sky Sports on Wednesday: “This is very different and I know he will take his time. He will need time, physically, mentally, emotionally, before making a decision about his future.”
