John Williams & Spielberg: New Collaboration Announced

The two veteran creators have already worked together in countless films, including Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List or The Shark, where Williams composed the music and Spielberg took on the direction, and according to the latest news, they will soon be working on a joint film again.

John Williams has confirmed that he will be writing the music for Steven Spielberg’s next film, which will be the 30th film collaboration between the Oscar-winning composer and the legendary director. The work will be released in cinemas in 2026, but almost nothing can be known about it, only that it is some kind of UFO adventure film.

The new film will star Josh O’Connor, Emily Blunt, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth and Eve Hewson. The pair’s relationship started with the 1974 film ‘The Sugarland Express’, and they worked together on countless films after that. The 93-year-old Williams said in 2022 that Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Fortune would be his last film, but he has since retracted that statement.
