by drbyos

The LHC Smash Party is coming February 12, 2026 at the Vaudoise Aréna for a first edition dedicated to sport, fun and solidarity. Unique in Switzerland, this event inspired by a North American concept brings together participants, Lausanne HC players, partners and supporters around a major table tennis tournament. All profits are donated to the LHC Academyin order to support the training of young Lions, from hockey school to the Elite categories.

To understand the importance of this evening and discover what makes it so special, we met John Fustsports director of the LHC and head of the LHC Academy.

For those new to the event, what is the LHC Smash Party?

“It’s a unique evening in Switzerland, inspired by a North American concept that I love. We bring together fans, partners, LHC players and the entire community around a major table tennis tournament. It’s friendly, fun, accessible to all… and above all, it’s an event that directly supports the LHC Academy. »

Why table tennis as the main theme of the evening?

“Table tennis is perfect for revealing the competitive spirit and personality of players who practice it often.

It’s a universal sport: everyone can play it, regardless of age or level. And above all, it is a sport that creates interaction, laughter and challenge. It’s perfect for a friendly evening where you want to mix players, supporters and partners. »

What is the main objective of the LHC Smash Party?

“The heart of the evening is training. Every franc collected is invested in the development of our young people: the hockey school, the Elite teams, the equipment, the travel, the quality of the coaches…

The LHC Smash Party allows us to finance concrete projects and continue to offer our young people the best possible structure. It’s really an investment in the future of the club. »

Who is the LHC Smash Party for? Who is the target audience?

“The beauty of Smash Party is that it really is for everyone. We have club partners who come as a team, supporters, collaborators, etc. and curious people who discover the world of hockey in a different way.

It is also the rare opportunity to share an intimate evening with the LHC players, in a relaxed and friendly setting.

It’s an extremely accessible event: you can play, cheer, socialize, enjoy the music or just have a good night out. No need to be athletic, no need to be an expert in table tennis.

The objective is to bring together the entire LHC community around a cause that is close to our hearts: training. »

Can you explain the different tournaments offered?

“There are two. THE Players Tournamentwhere several members of our first team play doubles with people who have won auctions (launched at the end of January). It’s a unique experience, and the duets will be incredible to watch!

Then there is the Tournoi Openopen to everyone: supporters, partners… It is an amateur tournament, accessible to all. No matter your level, the idea is to have fun. And the winning team will be entitled to a nice prize. »

What can the audience expect in terms of atmosphere?

“It’s really a party!” Two rooms, DJs, people playing, chatting, laughing, encouraging… Several food stands will be present during the evening. It’s a warm, simple and festive atmosphere. Everyone finds their place, even if they don’t play. »

The raffle is also one of the highlights of the Smash Party. How does it work?

“Yes, and it’s a very important element. Starting in January, Academy players and families are selling tickets, and 100% of profits support our young people. There are more than 100 prizes to be won, some of which are truly exceptional.

The 10 largest prizes are put back on stage the same evening, which always creates a very popular moment. »

If you had to convince someone to participate, what would you say?

“I would say: come and experience an unforgettable evening, meet the players, support our young people, and spend a unique moment with the LHC family. It’s simple, human, festive… and it really makes a difference for our Academy. »

“Whether you play or not, whether you come alone or with others, you are welcome. The Smash Party is the event that brings our community together around training. We look forward to seeing you on February 12 at the Vaudoise arena! »
