Jessica Meir: Maine Astronaut Heads to ISS | NASA Expedition

MAINE, USA — NASA astronaut and Caribou native Jessica Meir will make her second trip to the International Space Station (ISS) next year.

Meir is one the four selected for NASA’s SpaceX Crew-12 mission, which will launch no earlier than Feb. 12, 2026, according to a news release from the space agency. The expedition will be Meir’s second flight to the space station, where she’ll serve as spacecraft commander.

Crew-12 will join the currently aboard Expedition 74 crew on the ISS. The astronauts will conduct investigations and demonstrate technology to benefit humans and help prepare for future explorations to the moon and Mars, the release said.

Other crew members who will travel with Meir are fellow NASA astronaut Jack Hathaway, European Space agency astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev.
