Jonas jerebko Voices Disappointment Over National Team Exclusion

Former NBA player feels “disrespectful” treatment after being left out of the basketball European Championship squad.


Former NBA star Jonas Jerebko believes he should be participating in the Basketball European Championship with the Swedish national team. In an interview with Expressen, he stated that the national team management acted “disrespectful.”

“It really sucks not to join the European Championships. It sucks really hard. I know I won’t get another chance,” Jerebko said.

Jerebko faced suspension from national team games after signing with CSKA moscow following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Even though the suspension was lifted this spring, he was not selected for the European Championship squad.

Jerebko Reflects on His Basketball Career in Sweden

“It really sucks not to join the European Championships.It sucks really hard. I know I won’t get another chance.”

“No one has even been around and done what I have done in basketball in Sweden,” he says.
