On Friday, artist and actress Jennifer Lopez (56) shared a mirror selfie in a red dress on X.

Along with the photo, she wrote:

– Merry Christmas everyone!

Millions have seen the post, and in the comment section the debate is raging: How much has Lopez fixed on her appearance?

Merry Christmas one and all!

Some rage because they think the picture is retouched, while others think the star is pretty enough as she is.

In the comments section, several people point out that her iPhone is bent in the picture, which could be a sign that the selfie was edited with a filter or other retouching tools.

– “Bend It Like Beckham”? asks a fan.

Several hang on and write what they think has changed.

But many fans are also defending Lopez and urging her not to use filters.

Surprisingly positive and supportive, reports Marie Claire.

“No hate, but your iPhone is curved, which means you used a filter you don’t really need,” wrote one fan.

In 2021, several influencers in Norway supported the proposal for a law which means that advertising and sponsored posts on social media must be labeled if they have been retouched or have filters that change their appearance:

The law was later introduced.

Some are now speculating whether Lopez has deliberately edited the photo to create engagement on her profile.

– Getting older is cool when you don’t care who thinks getting older isn’t cool. Merry Christmas. Writing one under the mail to Lopez.

Another advises:

– You must double check all images you edit – before you post.

Both in Norway and abroad, the debate about how much celebrities edit their photos to change their appearance has raged in recent years.

Among other things, Kim Kardashian has come out against editing rumours.

Sister Kylie Jenner was freshened up after editing her waist narrower in photos taken at the Met Gala.

In 2018, Mads Hansen went out against influencers who he believes are retouching themselves.
