Juventus beat Sassuolo 3-0 in Week 19 of the Italian League this season. Jonathan David made up for missing a penalty when Lecce was held 1-1 last weekend by contributing one goal and one assist in this match.

Competing at Mapei Stadium, Wednesday (7/1/2026) early morning WIB, Juventus opened the scoring in the 16th minute. Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic intended to block Pierre Kalulu’s cross from entering the penalty box, but instead it went into his own goal.

Jonathan David almost doubled the score in the 24th minute, but his left footed shot was saved by Sassuolo goalkeeper Arijanet Muric. Kenan Yildiz’s two chances in the 29th and 31st minutes were also thwarted by the Swiss portiere.

The visitors threatened again through Yildiz in the 40th minute, but Muric managed to parry Juventus number 10’s shot. The 1-0 score lasted until halftime.

In the second half, Juventus doubled the score in the 62nd minute. David passed Weston McKennie’s pass to Fabio Miretti who then ran fast to dribble the ball towards the penalty box. He was shadowed by three Sasssuolo players, but managed to fire a shot into the left corner of the goal to beat Muric.

It was David’s turn to break into Sassuolo’s goal a minute later. He took advantage of Jay Idzes’ blunder, which was too slow to send a backpass to Muric. The ball was then seized by the Canadian striker who then beat Muric in a one-on-one duel.

The 3-0 score lasted until the end. This result brings Juventus to fourth place in the standings with 36 points, while Sassuolo is in 10th place with 23 points.
