Moments ago it was reported that the Jama Border Complex was closed due to bad weather conditions, but from the Provincia del Loa Border Complex they reported that the border crossing was enabled again and is operating normally.
Tourists, truckers and transporters in general are recommended to seek updated official information before starting any journey to the border crossing and to be cautious in some sectors on the Chilean side.
The Jama is one of the main bioceanic corridors in northern Chile, so its closure directly impacts cargo transportation and tourist flow between both countries. This is the second time this year that the complex has to be closed due to road infrastructure problems.
