Jakarta’s New Leadership Outlines Ambitious 40-Program Agenda
Jakarta, the bustling capital city, is poised for significant changes with the election of Governor-Elect Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor-Elect Rano Karno. The duo has unveiled a detailed 40-program agenda, meticulously crafted to tackle the city’s most pressing issues.
Understanding the 40-Program Agenda
Pramono Anung, alongside his deputy Rano Karno, has developed this list of initiatives through extensive consultations and a thorough review of Jakarta’s current challenges.
“We have prepared 40 programs. If Rano Karno wants to add more, please do. This is our promise during the campaign,” stated Pramono during a recent public announcement.
The Governor-Elect emphasized that these programs are both feasible and beneficial for the city’s residents. “We never promised anything out of reach. Everything on our list is achievable,” he added, underlining the practical approach of their campaign promises.
The Role of the Transition Team
The transition process has been handled with precision by the Pramono-Rano transition team, headed by Ima Mahdiah. The team’s primary focus is on ensuring a seamless leadership transition and prioritizing programs for immediate implementation post-inauguration.
Ima Mahdiah noted, “The transition team is currently preparing actionable steps for right after the governor and deputy governor’s oaths of office.” This indicates a well-thought-out strategy to avoid any governance delays.
Among the priority programs being finalized include flood management, public transportation improvements, and enhancements to public service quality. These areas represent urgent needs for the city’s residents.
The Election Outcome
Pramono and Rano secured resounding support in the 2024 Jakarta election, garnering 2,183,239 votes. This victory surpassed their nearest competitors, including Ridwan Kamil and Suswono with 1,718,160 votes, and Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana with 459,230 votes.
The success of Pramono and Rano was not limited to a few areas; they emerged victorious in all six regions that make up Jakarta. This widespread support underscores their popularity and the confidence placed in their leadership.
