Jacobs & Tamberri: Furuto & Climbing Ambitions

by Archynetys News Desk

Marcell Jacobs has decided to put an end to speculation about his retirement and continue his racing career. In an exclusive interview with SportWeek, the Italian sprinter shared his newfound motivation after the disappointment of the Tokyo World Championships. Jacobs declared that he wants to aim for the Los Angeles 2028 Games, demonstrating that he has found that spark that seemed lost. His competition calendar is still being defined, but the main objective could be the European Championships in Birmingham, where he will have to defend the title won in Rome in 2024.

Despite his desire to continue, some questions remain, such as the location of the training sessions. If the main base should remain in Florida, the champion could spend more time in his Academy in Desenzano. Relations with Fidal are still uncertain, even if technical director La Torre has offered to mediate between Jacobs and president Mei.

Gianmarco Tamberiinstead, defined 2025 as “worst year ever” through a post on social media. Despite the difficulties, Tamberi is determined to demonstrate his value in 2026, facing the growing competition in the Italian high jump, represented by young promises such as Mattia Sioli. Gimbo expressed his willingness to accept this challenge, writing on social media: “2026 we come to us”.
